Youth Ride Free Returns for Summer 2026

This summer, youth 18 and under can ride participating Contra Costa County buses for free through Youth Ride Free! County Connection, Tri Delta Transit, and WestCAT are offering fare-free rides for youth ages 18 and under from June 1 through July 13, 2026. This countywide program continues to expand access and mobility for young riders across Contra Costa County by removing barriers to transit - no applications, IDs, or passes required. It is a simple way for students to get to summer jobs, parks, libraries, activities, and time with friends while building confidence and independence on transit.

Youth Ride Free is made possible with support from Contra Costa County Supervisors Diane Burgis and Shanelle Scales-Preston, the Contra Costa Transportation Authority, and state LCTOP funds. Learn more at YouthRideFree.com.

For more youth transportation resources, families can also visit 511 CCTA to learn about Pass2Class and other programs that help students walk, bike, carpool, or take transit safely to school. Learn more at 511.ccta.ca.gov.
