Governing Board Meeting Summary - 10th August 2026

The Governing Board voted unanimously to approve the appointment of Nicole Padoan as Assistant Director - Innovation, Technology & Communication for Walnut Creek School District, pending release from San Ramon Valley Unified School District.

Ngoc Nguyen, Assistant Director of Educational Services, provided an overview of the beginning of the year professional learning activities with District staff. View the presentation HERE.

Cristina Gocobachi, Chief Business Official, provided the District's 2026-2027 45-Day Revised Budget, based on the Governor's budget signed on 6/29/2026. View the presentation HERE. Board approved, 5-0.

Vince Morales, Chief Business Official, recommended approval of Resolution 24-25-17 which declares that public bidding is impractical for the modular building components of the Walnut Heights Elementary Modernization project. This resolution authorizes awarding the design and construction of these modular buildings to American Modular Systems, Inc. (AMS) Board approved, 5-0.

Kelly Eagan, Director of Human Resources, presented the Spring 2026 Reclassification MOU between the District and CSEA Chapter 202 with recommendation approve one application. Board approved, 5-0.

Superintendent Campopiano recommended approval of Lozano Smith as a second legal firm for the District, effective July 2026. Board approved, 5-0.

The Governing Board discussed possible nominations for CSBA Directors-at-Large, Hispanic and Asian/Pacific Islander. The Board decided to take no action on this item.

The Governing Board and Superintendent Campopiano discussed school and committee assignments for 2026-2027. The Board approved, 5-0, the agreed upon School Site Liaison assignments, and approved appointing Heidi Hernandez Gatty & Zetta Reicker as a subcommittee to review Committee Assignment functions.
