Dear WCSD Families,
Thank you for helping make this school year’s start incredible! Spending time in our schools and connecting with students, staff, and families has been a joy. Those relationships are what make our district special.
Our attendance rate is 96.7%, a strong start! Thank you for making attendance a priority so students can learn, build friendships, and stay connected to their school community.
I am deeply grateful for the support of WCEF and our parent organizations. Your generosity makes so much possible for our students. The Read-a-Thon rocked it with 1,126,677 minutes read! Thank you to our readers, families, donors, and volunteers for bringing such enthusiasm to reading.
During Week of the School Administrator, October 12-18, please join me in celebrating our principals and assistant principals. I see firsthand the heart and dedication they bring to supporting students, staff, and families. Their work is demanding, often happens behind the scenes, and makes a difference every day. It is an honor to work alongside them.
Digital Citizenship Week, October 19-23, reminds us to help children make safe, thoughtful choices online. Keep the conversation going at home about kindness, privacy, and a healthy balance with technology.
Red Ribbon Week, October 23-31, offers another opportunity to talk about healthy choices, handling peer pressure, and reaching out to trusted adults. Together, we can remind our children that they have people in their corner.
Thank you for partnering with us to ensure every child is known by name, by need, and by strength. I am grateful to be part of this community and honored to serve our students.
Warmly,
Jon Campopiano
Superintendent
Walnut Creek School District
